Had alot of time in my hands recently. While not surfing the net for some interesting videos, i usually watch some movie or another. Here are the ones I have seen very recently:

1) Battle Royale - Excellent movie (read: Japanese imagination) Fucking gory though. Not for weak hearts a.k.a p******

2) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Woh...brilliant! I love Downey Jr's role in this movie. The movie had a non-chalant attitude..which I tremendously enjoyed.

3) Donnie Darko - Weird. Another one of those movies that makes you think what the f%$^%$ went on....It didnt make any sense at all! But once you take away all that mambo-jambo confusing bs, it's a really good movie.

4) Leon the Professional - Brilliant. Awesome. Excellent. Immense. My respect and admiration for Natalie Portman has just made a hole in the ceiling. No..not from that.

5) Lord of War: This movie has been the most realistic arms action/dealings I have seen in a while. To all those who disagree with me, piss off. Maybe more realistic than Syriana, but then again I slept through Syriana and stopped recalling any white middle aged character after the first two characters.

After settling down, a group of us decided to go to Uppsala last weekend, a town some 20-40miles north of Stockholm. There was a once in a year culture fest held there...

There were dance workshops, rock concerts, fire shows, cultural shows and so on...the whole place was packed with ppl.

I stay in Kungshamra with Alison and Ruiwen. Everyone else (second batch and other current batch mates) is staying in Lappis, one subway station to the south. Both Kungshamra and Lappis are student hostels. Kungshumra kicks more ass though. =P

Yesterday, a group of us went to Uppsalla, a town 20-40 miles north of Stockholm, for a culture fest. Was great. There were performances everwhere. We came back at around midnight, tired and all.

first class, first weekend, first day at work ...

Hey folks,

Time for another timely update of what-I-did-in-my-life-today-and-the-past-few-days.

I had to learn how to cook for myself couple of nights ago. The last time I cooked was with my program mates and it was a collective effort, lah. Now on my own, I thought big. My ego got the better of me and I decided for some pasta with tomato and olive topping with baked potato and beans. Basically, it fucked up, lah. But last night, I made something very simple and easy, and it turned out to be a great morale booster! So the moral of the story is..... Get more ready-to-eat potato salads.

I started work today man. Was pretty okay. Program director took me to my office at around 8.30am. Pretty early. Met the company CEO and other staff. Friendly bunch. Will get my laptop and email accounts tomorrow. For most of the time, I will be working in the marketing and sales departments. Hoping I could bite into some finance stuff as well. But looks like good stuff. So can't wait to see what's up next.

I love the Swedish work culture. Almost everyone leaves work at around 4.30-5pm. Shit man, if only this happened in Singapore! It's very flexible, the timing. Ooh ya, how can I forget. I had my first Swedish class yesterday night. As always, felt like an idiot in class. Fuck man, looks like one long year ahead. And I have a couple more classes left this week!

I don't know how to upload the pics onto the blog...so can't share some pictures that we took here. Will try to get this sorted out the next time I post something.

my first update

Landed in stockholm the day before. It's freaking cold here..but will get used to it I guess. Classes start tomorrow and and work starts on Monday. Swedish girls are gorgeous and I know a couple already. ;) The weather is like fuck. It's 10-15 degrees Celsius and they call it end of summer. Gosh. It's raining right now so it's colder than normal.

Did some shopping yesterday..managed to whip up a meal as well with. Still alive today so not that bad eh. I have yet to sign up for a line here..will be doing it only on Tuesday or so. My rooom is freaking big. Equivalent of a double room in Raffles. Has an attached toilet as well. Can take a dump anytime I want. Now I know why it's worth around 650SGD a month. =)

Contrary to popular understanding, you can find people from many different races and nationalities here. My level has a South Korean, a Malaysian, a Spanish, a Palestinian, a Polish, some Germans, a Swede and maybe more when people start shifting in. Shit, one sec. Rain is falling into my room. Ok back. Closed my windows.

Lucky to have such a very sweet program director. She took us all around past two days. I have kick-ass batch mates as well. It's great company..so look forward to one year with them as well.

Oh ya, they have huge ass Ikeas here. 5 stories, 7 stories and such. Makes our NTUC look like crap. And the thing is that no one will help you pack your groceries into the bag..you gotta do it yourself. And you gotta buy plastic bags! Hurt my back in the process.

Otherwise, yeah, food is pretty great and bland. Bought a couple of salsa sauces to keep me going. Made some spaghetti yesterday with me mates.

Internet is pretty fast here. I am leeching on my previous tenant's connection. Pretty awesome since things are fucking expensive here. Connection speed can go upto 300kb(according to friends) but it only goes up to 161kb (boo hoo) for me. There is no Computer Centre like control over what you download. ;)

My very first post in Sweden

Hey folks,

Ssup. Due to plenty of 'demand', I created this blog…to update you on my daily routines in Stockholm.

Stockholm is such a beautiful place...the people are friendly and such. I will be here for one whole year, thanks to the NOC program.

I am sure many of you agree to the title of my blog...after all the person who created the phone created it because of the rather tedious and tiresome process of using pigeons. Besides you also get crapped on. Aka lazy.

Anyways, enjoy...at times I get lazy, so I will post my emails to my friends. I apologize for the excessive usage of profanities. My emails will be edited for outside viewing, of course, and maybe different from the personal ones some people get.
